Join over 600 care providers across the UK in celebrating a fun-filled week to raise awareness for everyone working in the care sector.
Created and supported by Person Centred Software, Glad to Care Week is an incredibly impactful week, celebrated by carers all over the UK, which serves not only to pay tribute to everyone working in care, but also to champion the care community and raise awareness for the tireless dedication and incredible work ethic shown in the provision of care.
This year, Person Centred Software has partnered with Championing Social Care, sponsoring their Care Home Open Week to provide something bigger and better than ever before.
The collaboration between Glad to Care and Care Home Open Week allows both initiatives to reach even more people in care and to raise greater awareness. Both have a shared mission to celebrate the care sector and champion its achievements, and together PCS and CSC will take that mission further than ever before.
For the last five years, Glad to Care has championed the unsung heroes of the care sector who dedicate themselves to caring for the most vulnerable members of society, and together with more than 600 care homes taking part each year, Glad to Care continues its mission to bring the care community together by putting on a week of fun-filled activities designed by experts to promote physical and mental wellbeing for everybody involved in care.
Since launching in 2018, Glad to Care has served as a week-long celebration dedicated to highlighting the warmth, care and vibrancy of care home communities, and to celebrate the work done to provide happiness, dignity and meaningful experiences to those living in care across the country.

Giving Back with the Care Workers’ Charity
The Care Workers’ Charity, a charity close to Person Centred Software’s values, has worked tirelessly to support care workers through times of crisis by way of financial support, access to services and signposting for resources. As the only benevolent fund for paid care workers in the UK (supporting nearly 12 thousand care workers with £6 million in grants since 2016), the work they do is essential in the sector.
And that’s why this year we are delighted to announce that, once again, we will be donating £2 to the Care Worker’s Charity for everyone that downloads the Glad to Care Toolkit.
Last year there were nearly 600 downloads of the Toolkit, which helped us raise crucial funds for the work they continue to do.
Care Home Open Week
Organised by Championing Social Care, Care Home Open Week seeks to connect communities and tell uplifting stories of how care in a modern setting supports people to thrive, enhances their quality of life and allows them to continue to make meaningful memories and enjoy meaningful experiences.
As the leading provider of digital solutions for the care sector, for PCS, it was a natural partnership to celebrate the contributions made by those working in care to enhance residents' quality of life and build true hubs for community and togetherness. Person Centred Software will partner with Championing Social Care and be classed as an ambassador for Championing Social Care as Glad to Care joins forces with Care Home Open Week.
Championing Social Care is a volunteer-led organisation that brings leaders from across the social care sector together to work towards a wider and deeper public understanding, appreciation and respect for social care and the work that people within the social care sector do. Their mission is to showcase the achievements of those working in care by sharing stories of success and initiatives undertaken by the sector to improve the quality of life for residents.
In joining forces, Championing Social Care’s Care Home Open Week and Person Centred Software’s Glad to Care Week will seek to tell the stories of those who dedicate their lives to caring for the most vulnerable members of our society.
As part of Care Home Open Week, now in collaboration with and sponsored by Person Centred Software, there will be a host of events taking place over the week, including:
- Open Doors, Open Hearts – A chance to step inside and discover heart-warming stories, activities and connections that make each care home a unique community.
- Community Engagement – A time to engage with those living and working in care and fellow visitors as they foster a sense of inclusivity and togetherness.
- Innovative Care Practices – Explore the latest innovations in care as homes showcase their commitment to providing the best outcomes for residents' quality of life and wellbeing.
